Traffic Regulation Notice – Closure of A361, Shipton

TRAFFIC REGULATION NOTICE

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984

 Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, that the Oxfordshire County Council

 

TEMPORARILY PROHIBITS THE USE OF THE HIGHWAY

BY ALL MOTOR VEHICLES

                  LOCATION:          Shipton-under-Wychwood, A361 Shipton Road

                

          REASON:             To facilitate carriageway re surfacing, re lining and re marking

DURATION:          Starting on 27 September 2021

                                         The anticipated completion date is 29 September 2021 (date included). Closure will operate nightly between 20:00 and 06:00 .

                                         (Traffic Regulation Notices cover a maximum of 5 consecutive days.)

         

          ACCESS:              Limited access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for frontages within the closed section of road, subject to the progress of the works

 

           SUGGESTED ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: On the A361 all northbound traffic should join    

           the diversion on the northbound A424 or return to the northbound A424 at

           Fullbrook, Burford and follow the A424 to join the A429 at Stow on the Wold. In Stow

           the eastbound A436 should be joined and followed to the A44 Cross Hands junction.

           Take the eastbound A44 to Chipping Norton and join the A361 .

           On the A361 southbound through traffic should join the diversion at the A44 junction   

           in Chipping Norton and follow the A44 to Cross Hands, turn west on the A436 to Stow

           on the Wold and south on the A429 leaving the A429 at the junction with the A424 to

           reach Burford and the A361 via the A424.
