TRAFFIC REGULATION NOTICE

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT, 1984

 Notice is hereby given pursuant to Section 14(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act, 1984, that the Oxfordshire County Council

TEMPORARILY PROHIBITS THE USE OF THE HIGHWAY

BY ALL MOTOR VEHICLES

          LOCATION:          Ascott Under Wychwood, Station Road

                     

          REASON:             To facilitate annual maintenance and adjustments to the equipment and barrier arms

 

DURATION:          Starting on 05 April 2020

                                         The anticipated completion date is 06 April 2020 (date included). This closure will operate between 11:00 pm and 05:00am (23:00 to 05:00)

                                         (Traffic Regulation Notices cover a maximum of 5 consecutive days.)

         

          ACCESS:              Limited access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for frontages within the closed section of road, subject to the progress of the works

 

SUGGESTED ALTERNATIVE ROUTE: via London Lane, B4437, Leafield Road, A361, Ascott Road, High Steet, A361, Station Road and vice versa

Temporary Traffic Regulation Notice – S14 Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984

Temporary Emergency Road Closure at Shipton under Wychwood, Fiddlers Hill, T-junction adjoining Trots Lane

In the interests of public safety it will be necessary for Oxfordshire County Council to temporarily close the Fiddlers Hill whilst drainage works are carried out for public safety reasons.

A temporary Emergency Notice is being made to implement the temporary closure and will operate from 31 January 2020 up to and including 21 February 2020. This is a 24 hour road closure.

Access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for those frontages within the closure area, subject to the progress of the works and liaison with the works supervisor.

NOTICE OF ELECTION

UK Parliamentary election
Election of a Member of Parliament for the Witney constituency
1. ELECTION
An Election is to be held for a Member of Parliament to serve the above Constituency.
2. NOMINATION PAPERS
Nomination papers can be obtained from the office of the Acting Returning Officer, Woodgreen, Witney, Oxfordshire, OX28 1NB on Monday to Friday between the hours of 10 am and 4 pm.
3. DELIVERY OF NOMINATION PAPERS
Nomination papers must be delivered to the Acting Returning Officer at the Electoral Services Office, Council Offices, Woodgreen, Witney, Oxfordshire, OX28 1NB between 10 am and 4 pm on Monday 11 November to Thursday 14 November 2019, inclusive.
4. PAYMENT OF DEPOSIT
The £500 deposit can be paid by legal tender or by means of a banker’s draft from a drawer which carries on business as a banker in the United Kingdom payable to Witney Constituency Parliamentary Election Account. The deposit may alternatively be made by electronic transfer to that account: sort code 40-47-07; account number 51701746.
5. POLL
If the election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 12 December 2019.
6. APPLICATIONS TO REGISTER TO VOTE
Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday 26 November 2019.
7. APPLICATIONS TO VOTE BY POST OR PROXY
Applications to vote by post, or to vary or cancel existing postal or proxy voting arrangements, must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5 pm on Tuesday 26 November 2019.
Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5 pm on Wednesday 4 December 2019.
Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on the grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5 pm on Thursday 12 December 2019. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on Wednesday 4 December 2019. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5pm on Wednesday 4 December 2019.
All applications and notices regarding absent voting must be sent to the Electoral Registration Officer, Electoral Services Office, Council Offices, Woodgreen, Witney, Oxon, OX28 1NB . Application forms for postal and proxy voting are available from that address and from www.westoxon.gov.uk/register
