Letter from Chair following death of HM Queen

On behalf of Shipton-under-Wychwood Parish Council, it is with great sadness that we learn of the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.  Our feelings at this time are, I am sure, shared by any who will want to recognise and celebrate the inspirational, lifelong service of our country’s longest-reigning monarch.

A book of condolence has been opened at St Mary’s Church for public messages.  This will be available every day, from 8am-7pm (approx).  Buckingham Palace’s e-book of condolence is also available at https://www.royal.uk for those who would prefer to sign this.  All books of condolence will close at 5pm on Tuesday 20th September.

Floral tributes may be left at St Mary’s Church, either in the porch or on either side of the path.  The Parish Council meeting, which was due to be held 15th September will be postponed until the week beginning 26th September.
